Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) is a powerful tool for probing molecular structure and function. It is a method for determining macromolecular structure in or near physiological conditions, and the best method for determining molecular dynamics over wide time scale in atomic details. In addition, it is also an efficient method for determining molecular interactions, such as screening drugs and small ligands that interact with macromolecules and receptors. Recent efforts to utilize NMR for metabolomics studies have also been driven. In this seminar, I will briefly introduce the NMR principle and its applications in life science.
