Position description:
Peter K. Liaw graduated from Tsing Hua University and is currently a faculty at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has conducted the metal-related research particularly using advanced techniques, including the atomic probe tomography, neutron scattering, synchrotron X-ray diffraction, and theoretical modeling, to study the formation mechanisms and developments of high entropy materials for more than 20 years. He is now collaborating with Prof. Jien Wei Yeh (Head of the High Entropy Materials Center at NTHU) and looking for young talents (PhD students) to join together. The scope of this offer is to conduct the advanced and cutting-edge research, publish great journal papers, and develop outstanding researchers in both the academic and industrial sectors.
ð Research topic: high-entropy materials development/modeling and advanced characterizations
ð Expected candidate: materials science/physics/mechanical engineering/nuclear engineering MS / BS degree with experiences related to but not limited to metal process / fabrication / characterizations / theoretical modeling
ð Job description: responsible for the development and modeling of high-temperature ultrahigh-strength high entropy materials, publication of journal papers, and pursuit of PhD
